日本の音楽を世界に紹介したいという思いをもち、チャンスがある限り日本音楽の演奏を心がけてきました。1992年、指揮者がこのベルクワイアーの為に編曲したものですが、2000年にバーミンガムで開催された世界大会の合同演奏に採上げ、編曲者自らが指揮。「これこそ、世界大会の意義に相応しい」と評価して頂き、また、大いに楽しんで頂けたことは何よりでした。勿論、国内でも、いつも大好評です。
We often pick up Japanese (traditional) music to perform, especially when we have opportunities to perform in front of the international audience. Otemoyan is arranged for handbells by Nozomu Abe in 1992, and selected as the massed ringing piece for the 9th International Handbell Symposium in Birmingham (2000). Ringers from different countries enjoyed ringing this piece under the baton of the arranger, saying this is very appropriate for the meaning of the international symposium. Of course always liked by the Japanese audience too!
